Taramps TL 1500

The Taramps TL 1500 is a compact 3-channel amplifier designed specifically for building a complete car hi-fi system consisting of stereo speakers and a subwoofer. For example, two separate stereo channels deliver 95 watts RMS each at 2 ohms to the front or rear speakers, while an additional subwoofer output provides 200 watts RMS at 4 ohms.

The crossover is already built into the amplifier: The two stereo outputs use a high-pass filter set at 90 Hz, while the subwoofer channel handles the low frequencies down to 90 Hz. This makes it possible to set up a compact 2.1- or 3-channel system using just one amplifier, without the need for an additional active crossover.

In addition to a standard RCA/Cinch input, the TL 1500 features a high-level input (WIRE). This makes it suitable for integration into vehicles with factory-installed radios that do not have a Cinch output. The automatic power-on feature triggered by the incoming audio signal further simplifies such OEM installations.

The subwoofer channel features an adjustable bass boost ranging from 0 to 10 dB at 50 Hz. With an output stage efficiency of approximately 90%, the Class D amplifier combines its compact size with relatively low power consumption.
