Sundown U-10 V.2

The Sundown Audio U-10 V.2 is a high-performance 25-cm subwoofer designed for car audio systems that require high sound pressure levels, high power handling, and controlled bass reproduction. Within the Sundown U-Series, it combines a robust motor design with an exceptionally high linear cone excursion, making it suitable for both performance-oriented music systems and demanding SPL applications.

The V.2 version features a solid ferrite motor combined with a 3"-aluminum voice coil former. The high-temperature copper voice coil and the sophisticated cooling system ensure that the heat generated during high-power operation is dissipated from the driver as effectively as possible.

To this end, the U-10 V.2 features, among other things, cooling channels in the pole core, rear ventilation of the air gap, and additional cooling channels in the area of the upper pole plate. An aluminum short-circuit ring simultaneously supports controlled drive and reduces unwanted inductive effects.

With a linear Xmax of 30 mm, the U-10 V.2 offers enormous excursion reserves for a 10"-subwoofer. The sturdy cast basket construction, double-stitched surround, and exceptionally robust connection wires are designed to withstand high mechanical stresses.

Despite its high performance, the U-10 V.2 does not require an excessively large enclosure. For bass-reflex setups, Sundown Audio recommends a net volume of approximately 28.3 liters tuned to 35 Hz. This allows the subwoofer to be used even in applications where high bass output is required in a relatively compact enclosure.
