The Sundown Audio SML-12 is a particularly slim 12-inch subwoofer designed for installations where mounting depth is limited. With an installation depth of only about 113 mm, the SML-12 is ideal for compact subwoofer enclosures, installations behind or under seats, and custom installations with limited space.

Despite its flat design, the SML-12 is engineered for high mechanical and thermal durability. The 2.5-inch voice coil former is made of black aluminum and facilitates efficient heat dissipation. A four-layer high-temperature copper voice coil, together with the ventilated pole piece and the multi-vented magnetic gap, ensures reliable cooling under high continuous load.

The specially developed cone geometry was optimized for the quietest possible operation, even with a larger cone excursion. With a linear Xmax of 11 mm, the SML-12 offers a remarkable excursion for an exceptionally flat subwoofer. The dual magnet drive and the bolted motor construction ensure the necessary stability.

Sundown Audio offers the SML-12 with either a 2 × 2-ohm (D2) or 2 × 4-ohm (D4) voice coil. This allows the subwoofer to be flexibly adapted to different amplifier and system configurations.
