Sundown SML-10

The Sundown Audio SML-10 is an exceptionally slim 25-cm (10") subwoofer designed for powerful bass performance in extremely limited installation spaces. Thanks to its shallow mounting depth of only about 96 mm, it is ideal for compact subwoofer enclosures as well as installations behind or under vehicle seats.

Despite its compact design, the SML-10 can handle 600 watts RMS and offers a linear cone excursion of up to 14 mm. Sundown Audio thus combines a very slim profile with high power handling—remarkable for this design—and powerful low-frequency performance.

To ensure reliable heat dissipation, Sundown Audio uses a 2.5" voice coil carrier made of black aluminum in combination with a high-temperature-resistant, four-layer-wound copper voice coil. Ventilation openings in the pole piece and magnetic gap further aid in cooling the driver during prolonged heavy use.

The specially designed diaphragm geometry is engineered for the quietest possible operation, even with larger diaphragm excursions. Sewn-in “Mini-XL” tinsel leads reduce mechanical stress on the connection wires. A bolted motor assembly and the dual-magnet system further ensure a robust construction.

The SML-10 is available either as a D2 with a 2 × 2-ohm voice coil or as a D4 with a 2 × 4-ohm voice coil, allowing it to be flexibly adapted to different amplifier configurations.
