Sundown SLD-10

The Sundown Audio SLD-10 was designed for car audio installations where mounting depth is limited, but where powerful and controlled deep bass is still a must. With an installation depth of just around 124 mm, this 10-inch subwoofer is particularly well-suited for compact enclosures, under-seat solutions, or installations behind seatbacks.

Despite its slim design, the SLD-10 can handle 600 watts RMS. A black 2.5-inch aluminum voice coil aids in heat dissipation, while the four-layer high-temperature copper winding is designed for long-term durability. Ventilation channels in the pole piece and the specially designed top plate further improve the driver’s cooling. A short-circuit ring in the magnet system contributes to the driver’s controlled and low-distortion performance.

The stitched Mini-XL tinsel strands reduce mechanical stress on the connection wires during large diaphragm excursions. In addition, the motor features a bolted-on design and a specially shaped diaphragm intended to reduce mechanical noise during larger excursions. The linear Xmax is 12 mm, giving the SLD-10 a considerable usable diaphragm excursion despite its low profile.

The subwoofer is available as the SLD-10 D2 (2 × 2 ohms) and as the SLD-10 D4 (2 × 4 ohms). This allows you to select the final connection impedance to match the amplifier being used.
