Sundown SA 10 V3

The Sundown Audio SA-10 V3 is a powerful 25-cm subwoofer from the proven SA series, designed for car audio applications that require high volume, deep bass, and a rugged construction. Despite its compact 10-inch size, the SA-10 V3 offers a very large linear cone excursion, making it ideal for performance-oriented systems with limited space.

Compared to the previous generation, the SA-10 V3 has undergone extensive further development. Sundown Audio continues to rely on a large 2.75-inch voice coil, but has increased the usable winding length. As a result, the subwoofer achieves a linear Xmax of 22 mm in one direction. A taller cone and wider centering spiders further improve the guidance and stability of the moving assembly.

To ensure high thermal endurance, the SA-10 V3 features a vented magnetic gap, a solid pole piece with additional ventilation channels, and an aluminum voice coil former. The high-temperature copper voice coil ensures reliable heat dissipation even at high continuous power levels.

To reduce distortion, the drive incorporates a Faraday ring in the magnet system and another Faraday ring on the pole core. This reduces changes in inductance and enables more controlled drive behavior across the operating range.

The SA-10 V3 is available with either a 2 × 2-ohm (D2) or a 2 × 4-ohm (D4) voice coil, allowing it to be flexibly adapted to different amplifier and subwoofer configurations.
