The Sundown Audio E-15 v.4 is a high-performance 15-inch subwoofer from the E Series, designed for long cone excursion, powerful low-frequency response, and a robust construction. Despite its position within the E-Series, the E-15 v.4 offers numerous design features typically found in significantly more powerful subwoofers.

With a linear Xmax of 14 mm in each direction, the subwoofer has sufficient excursion reserves to generate high sound pressure levels even at low frequencies. The dual-magnet drive, together with the vented magnetic gap and pole piece, ensures effective heat dissipation. This allows the voice coil to operate reliably even under prolonged high loads.

The high-temperature-resistant, four-layer-wound copper voice coil combines high electrical power handling with a robust mechanical design. The centering spider is made of a durable poly-cotton blend and is additionally connected to the steel basket to ensure reliable guidance of the moving system even during large diaphragm deflections.

Sewn-on Mini-XL connection leads reduce mechanical stress on the leads during vigorous diaphragm movement. High-quality push terminals also enable a secure and straightforward connection to the speaker cable.

The E-15 v.4 was developed specifically for use in bass-reflex enclosures. Sundown Audio recommends a net enclosure volume of approximately 85 liters for a single subwoofer, with a tuning frequency of 35 Hz. This makes the E-15 v.4 particularly well-suited for car audio systems that require powerful low-frequency bass and high sound levels.
