Cobra - 2.3 MM

With the Comfort Mat COBRA 2.3 mm, you get a high-quality, lightweight aluminum-butyl insulation mat that effectively reduces sheet metal vibrations and structure-borne noise. Thanks to its special butyl-polymer blend combined with a 120 µm-thick aluminum foil, the mat reinforces thin body panels and creates the ideal foundation for a significantly quieter vehicle interior. Its low weight per unit area makes it particularly well-suited for applications where high damping performance is required without adding unnecessary weight.

COBRA is applied as the first layer directly to the vehicle sheet metal. There, it reduces resonance, prevents sheet metal parts from vibrating in unison, and simultaneously improves the stability of the body panels. As a result, speakers perform more precisely, disruptive vibrations are minimized, and subsequent sound absorbers or insulation mats can function optimally. The water-resistant construction with corrosion-protective properties is ideal for long-term use in vehicles and, under normal conditions, does not require heating during installation.

Quick Installation Guide

1. Remove the vehicle component and completely expose the surface to be labeled.
2. Thoroughly clean the sheet metal and degrease it with a suitable silicone or grease remover.
3. Cut the insulation mat to the desired size.
4. Remove the protective film and place the mat on the cleaned sheet metal.
5. At low ambient temperatures, the mat can be gently warmed to make installation even easier (not necessary under normal conditions).
6. Carefully press the mat onto the surface with a pressure roller, ensuring there are no air bubbles, until it adheres completely to the substrate.
7. For maximum insulation, we recommend applying a second layer of sound-absorbing insulation material or acoustic foam.
