✓ Class HD technology

The PP 86DSP Mk2 combines the advantages of Class H technology with the principle of a Class D amplifier. The result is an unsurpassed efficiency that surpasses that of conventional Class D amplifiers. The Class HD concept shows its advantages at low and medium levels, as the power supply unit regulates the internal supply voltage of the power stages depending on the amplitude of the input signal. This drastically reduces the average power loss generated by the amplifier.

✓ Intelligent high-level input

Modern, factory-fitted car radios are becoming increasingly intelligent with regard to the diagnosis of the connected speakers. If an amplifier is connected to the radio instead, this usually results in error messages or even the loss of individual functions (e.g. faders). The new ADEP circuit (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection) prevents all these problems without unnecessarily overloading the radio's speaker outputs at high levels.

✓ Start-stop capability

The power supply unit in the PP 86DSP Mk2 amplifier ensures the internal power supply even in the event of short-term dips down to 6 volts. This ensures that the amplifier remains fully functional even when the engine is started. If the on-board voltage drops below 10.5 volts for longer than 5 seconds, the amplifier switches to "Protect Mode" (status LED lights up red continuously) to prevent further discharge of the battery.

✓ Automatic Digital Signal Detection

Switching between the analog and digital inputs is signal-controlled. As soon as an audio signal is detected at the optical input, the amplifier switches to this input. This function can be deactivated in the DSP PC-Tool software or, alternatively, manual control can be selected via an optionally available remote control.

✓ Power save mode

The Power Save mode allows the power consumption of the PP 86DSP Mk2 (and any additional amplifiers connected) to be drastically reduced if no input signal is present for longer than 60 seconds. As soon as the "Power Save Mode" is active, the internal amplifier stages of the PP 86DSP Mk2 and the remote output are switched off, thus significantly reducing the power consumption. The amplifier returns to normal operating mode within 2 seconds as soon as a music signal is applied to its input. The switch-off delay can be varied or completely deactivated using the DSP PC-Tool software.
