The flat, rounded rear housing shape of the VULCAN VRX82A active subwoofer can be installed in the spare wheel well or standing upright by fitting the rubber feet supplied to the bottom of the enclosure. The highlight of the VULCAN subwoofer system is the passive cone, which virtually resonates alongside the actively driven woofer and provides additional air displacement, which is important for low frequencies. The VRX82A has an advantage here, as conventional bass reflex enclosures tend to generate flow noise at the reflex port, which also takes up valuable internal volume. This is not the case with systems with passive radiators, which function like a bass reflex port - but without the annoying noise. An integrated Class D amplifier with an efficiency of over 80% ensures a high 200 W/RMS and provides the subwoofer with efficient digital power.
