With up to 285 W RMS maximum power per channel at 2 Ω and the integrated 12-channel signal processor with doubled computing power, an incomparable sound experience in high-res quality is guaranteed. State-of-the-art technology and TwinDSP power for the ultimate high-res sound experience

The P SIX DSP ULTIMATE is equipped with two of the currently most powerful 64-bit audio signal processors from Analog Devices. The incredible computing power of 2.4 billion MAC operations per second, in combination with the high sampling rate of 96 kHz and the resulting audio bandwidth of over 40 kHz, as well as BurrBrown AD/DA signal converters, ensure outstanding sound in high-res quality. In addition, the entire audio signal path, including the new, more powerful power supply unit, has been optimized down to the last detail.

ACO – Advanced 32 Bit CoProcessor-Plattform

The HELIX P SIX DSP ULTIMATE is equipped with the proprietary 32-bit ACO platform. This not only takes over all control tasks extremely quickly, but above all a whole bundle of audio functions: fantastic sound effects such as augmented bass processing or RealCenter are implemented as well as a channel-separated input EQ including input signal analyzer (ISA) for easy analysis and compensation of the input signals from OE Radios that already contain a sound setup ex works.
 

Optimal connection and flexibility

With its large number of inputs and outputs (6 x high level, 6 x cinch, 1 x optical SPDIF, 1 x coaxial SPDIF, 1 x HEC slot, 4 x line output & 1 x optical digital output), the P SIX DSP ULTIMATE offers all of them Requirements for a simple adaptation to existing factory radios or multi-channel OE sound systems. The TwinDSP Power concept makes the twelve separately processable channels and the multitude of new sound features in combination with the high sampling rate of 96 kHz (which results in an audio bandwidth of over 40 kHz) possible in the first place.

 

Ready for 24 V

The P SIX DSP ULTIMATE is not only suitable for use with 12 V vehicle electrical systems, but can also be operated with 24 V vehicle electrical systems, such as are common in trucks, without any changes or settings on the device. The performance data of the P SIX DSP ULTIMATE are identical for both operating modes. This gives maximum flexibility for all conceivable purposes.

 

ACO – Advanced 32 Bit CoProcessor

The P SIX DSP ULTIMATE uses a particularly powerful 32-bit CoProcessor of the latest generation. This not only takes over all control tasks extremely quickly, but also switches between the up to ten possible sound setups at lightning speed.

But ACO offers much more - in addition to a channel-separated input EQ including input signal analyzer (ISA) for easy analysis and compensation of the input signals from OE radios and fantastic sound effects such as augmented bass processing or RealCenter, there is now the revolutionary TuneEQ function for automatically adjusting the Output Equalizer.

Another major advantage is the integrated, native bootloader of the CoProcessor. This enables software upgrades of all components of the DSP, for example to be able to adapt the microcontroller-controlled ADEP.3 circuit to changes in the diagnostic systems of factory radios in the future or to expand the device with additional interfaces.

 

Intelligent high-level input ADEP.3

Modern, factory-installed car radios are becoming more and more intelligent when it comes to diagnosing the connected loudspeakers. The latest generation in particular is equipped with additional monitoring functions, so that error messages or even malfunctions can occur when an additional signal processor is connected. The new ADEP.3 circuit (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection Generation 3) prevents these problems without unnecessarily loading the speaker outputs of the radio at high levels.

 

start-stop capability

The power pack in the P SIX DSP ULTIMATE ensures the internal power supply even in the event of short-term dips down to 6 volts. This ensures that the P SIX DSP ULTIMATE remains fully functional even when the engine is started.

 

Power Save Modus

The Power Save mode is activated in the basic settings of the DSP PC-Tool software. It allows the power consumption of the P SIX DSP ULTIMATE (and possibly additionally connected amplifiers) to be drastically reduced if there is no input signal for longer than 60 seconds. As soon as the "Power Save Mode" is active, the internal amplifier stages of the P SIX DSP ULTIMATE and the remote output are switched off, thus significantly reducing power consumption. The amplifier returns to normal operation within 2 seconds as soon as a music signal is present at its input. The switch-off delay can be varied or completely deactivated via the DSP PC-Tool software.

 

Automatic Digital Signal Detection

The P SIX DSP ULTIMATE allows signal-controlled switching between the analog and digital inputs. As soon as an audio signal is detected at the optical input or coax input, the amplifier switches to this input. This function can be activated in the DSP PC-Tool software or, alternatively, manual control can be selected using an optionally available remote control.

DSP Features

TuneEQ

TuneEQ is an extremely flexible and particularly easy-to-use function for automated frequency response correction. A single measurement per audio channel or channel pair with a suitable measurement microphone (e.g. our MTK1) is sufficient for TuneEQ to independently and precisely adapt the equalizer to the desired reference curve. TuneEQ uses the full functionality of the parametric equalizer, including center frequency, Q factor and gain. And because the highly complex arithmetic operations required for this run in the background, you also save a lot of time when tuning the sound with TuneEQ.

 

RealCenter

The "RealCenter" function is an Audiotec Fischer proprietary algorithm that emphasizes the monaural information of the left and right front channels to create a unique center signal. In contrast to the usual method, in which only the channels are summed up, there is also a dynamic control of the center signal through the stereophonic information content of the left and right channel. This means that the center channel does not reproduce a signal if only the left channel or only the right channel provides an audio signal. With the usual algorithms, the center channel would only be 6 dB quieter in this case. Audiotec Fischer's "RealCenter" thus enables a unique, wide-ranging stage image - and that's ideal for driver and passenger alike! The disadvantages of a conventional center channel, such as an obtrusive, narrow spatial sound representation, are finally a thing of the past.

 

Augmented Bass Processing

Audiotec Fischer's proprietary "Augmented Bass Processing", consisting of the two revolutionary sound features: "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" and "SubXpander". These are specifically designed to dramatically improve bass response from subwoofers.

"Dynamic Bass Enhancement" combines in an ingenious way maximum deep bass foundation and high maximum sound pressure - regardless of the type of music you are listening to or the sound settings on the radio. Depending on the input signal, "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" boosts the lower frequency range on the one hand and varies the cut-off frequency of the subsonic filter on the other. The result is a significantly more powerful, deeper bass reproduction at low and medium volumes without running the risk of mechanically or electrically overloading the subwoofer at high volumes. It's simply fascinating what kind of bass performance is suddenly possible.

If you want the bass range to be a little deeper and "blacker", you can also activate the "SubXpander". Here, additional subharmonic tones are added to the fundamental tones in the frequency range between 50 and 100 Hz.
