The Ground Zero GZUC 165.3SQ-ACT is a high-quality 3-way component system from the URANIUM series, designed specifically for fully active operation. The combination of a 165-mm low-midrange driver, a 55-mm midrange driver, and a 28-mm tweeter enables precise and detailed sound reproduction across an exceptionally wide frequency range.
For the low-midrange driver, Ground Zero uses a black anodized aluminum cone that combines high stability with controlled vibration behavior. A sturdy die-cast aluminum basket forms the mechanical foundation, while the linearized neodymium driver and the 50-mm copper voice coil ensure controlled and dynamic performance. A durable rubber surround supports smooth cone movement.
The GZUM 55SQ is used for the midrange. This compact 55-mm silk dome midrange driver is designed to deliver natural and finely detailed reproduction of the important vocal and midrange frequencies. The system is complemented by the GZUT 28SQ, featuring a 28-mm silk dome, for nuanced high-frequency reproduction.
The ACT version is used without a passive 3-way crossover. This allows the low-midrange, midrange, and tweeter drivers to be individually driven via suitable amplifier channels or a DSP and tuned to the installation position, vehicle acoustics, and personal sound preferences. This makes the GZUC 165.3SQ-ACT particularly appealing for high-end DSP-based car audio systems.
