ESX Quantum Series
For the QUANTUM QXE woofer series, the ESX developers have developed completely new cast aluminum baskets. Special emphasis was placed on two characteristics for these baskets: The greatest possible centering to ensure optimum cone excursion and very good rear ventilation of the spider and voice coil. This reduces compression when the diaphragm is deflected and promotes cooling of the voice coil. To further improve the cooling and thus increase the power handling, the T-plate was also provided with ventilation holes. The 76 mm (3") dual voice coil on a black anodized aluminium carrier is driven by two powerful 100 oz. (Y30) magnets, which ensures an extremely efficient efficiency of up to 89 dB. The 40 mm long wound voice coil gives the cone a linear excursion of +/- 14 mm and a mechanical excursion of up to +/- 22 mm. As a result, the scooped paper cone with double-stitched foam surround develops enormous sound pressure and precise sounding bass.
