ESX Quantum Insulation
ESX is known for its high-quality components in the car audio sector. In addition to high-quality amplifiers and DSP products, ESX also offers a wide range of loudspeakers. As the loudspeakers are installed in vehicles and often cause problems when sheet metal or door panels resonate undesirably, ESX has now added a wide range of damping material to its program. With the aluminum butyl and acoustic foam called QUANTUM RAZOR MAT, ESX enables professional insulation in vehicles. Because there's one thing no music fan wants: background noise or vibrations that spoil the enjoyment of music.
Not all aluminum butyl is the same. Ultimately, it depends on the right composition and internal structure, not just the weight or thickness of the material. Otherwise you could just as easily use roofing felt. Good aluminum butyl has high mechanical damping properties and can calm unwanted vibrating parts like a good shock absorber. At the same time, the sound is insulated so that the application of aluminum butyl also creates an acoustic barrier. All of this has a positive effect on the interior acoustics and the reproduction quality of the speakers.
The QRM18 aluminum butyl already has very good all-round insulating properties. With its 1.8 mm thickness, it is easy to process and well suited for insulating doors or even car trunks. If the surface allows, the 2.2 mm thick QRM22 with a mechanical loss factor (MLF) of 0.35 is an even better choice. The ingenious QRM30S offers the best insulating properties. With a thickness of 3.0 millimeters and an MLF of 0.5, this Razor Mat keeps even problematic areas quiet. The sound result is astounding: where vehicle parts previously "rattled" and "clattered", there is absolute silence after the QRM30S has been applied. Only what the loudspeaker is supposed to reproduce can be heard. Even if you listen a little louder, only the clear sound from the speakers is present.
