The QUANTUM Q800A features a 20 cm (8 inch) subwoofer in an enclosure made from a combination of aluminum and plastic. Thanks to the ingenious design, a long bass reflex channel could be constructed around the subwoofer in the housing in order to elicit more low bass from the woofer than usual. The special subwoofer has been trimmed for very high efficiency without neglecting the lowest frequencies. It also has an extra reinforced fiberglass cone to withstand the high pressures inside the cabinet. A fully-fledged Class A/B amplifier with an output of up to 200 watts provides plenty of power. Thanks to its small diameter of just 36 cm, the Q800A not only fits into spare wheel wells without a spare wheel, but can also be mounted directly inside a spare wheel (from 15 inches) using the screw supplied.
