ESX DRDS - Smart Remote Delay Switch

Many people know the problem: when amplifiers are switched on or off, an annoying "PLOPP" noise is heard from the speakers or subwoofer. This is often caused by poor timing between the radio and amplifier or a high current requirement, especially if several amplifiers are to be switched on at the same time. To prevent this, relays are often installed for time-delayed switching, but this is a complicated and costly solution. ESX now offers a much simpler and more efficient alternative: the DRDS-14 remote 4-way switch, which permanently solves switch-on problems and protects high-quality components at the same time.

To ensure that amplifiers controlled via the remote signal do not all start at the same time, the signal must be staggered for each amplifier. Put simply, as soon as the first amplifier is switched on, the second should follow with a short delay, then the third and finally the fourth. This is exactly what the new DRDS14 makes possible. The switch has a remote input, which typically comes from the car radio or a DSP, as well as four remote outputs arranged next to each other. A time delay can be set individually for each output using buttons on the side. For example, the first output can be activated two seconds after the radio is switched on, the second five seconds after the first output and so on - up to the fourth amplifier. The outputs can even be programmed in reverse order, independent of the switch-on delay, so that the amplifiers are switched off one after the other with a time delay.

The DRDS-14 not only offers a digital volt display, which can even be calibrated to match other nearby volt displays such as buffer capacitors, but also has a sophisticated protection function: if an undervoltage or overvoltage occurs in the vehicle, the limit values of which can be set individually, the connected components are automatically switched off so that they cannot be damaged.
