VESPA - 2.5 MM

The Comfort Mat VESPA 2.5 mm is a high-quality aluminum-butyl damping mat designed to effectively reduce vibrations and structure-borne noise on vehicle body panels. Thanks to its balanced material thickness, it is ideal for areas with light to moderate vibration exposure and provides the perfect foundation for a professional vehicle sound deadening system. The combination of a high-quality butyl polymer layer and a sturdy aluminum foil ensures high inherent stiffness of the panels, reduces annoying resonances, and simultaneously improves the sound quality of speaker systems.

The VESPA 2.5 mm is applied directly to the body panel as the first layer of insulation (vibration damping). It stiffens the sheet metal, minimizes vibrations, and creates the ideal base for an optional second layer of sound absorber or acoustic foam to further reduce airborne noise and other sounds. Thanks to its high adhesive strength, water resistance, and corrosion-inhibiting properties, it is ideally suited for long-term use in vehicles

Installation Instructions

1. Thoroughly clean the surface to remove dust, grease, oil, and moisture.
2. Cut the insulation mat to size and remove the protective film.
3. Apply the mat directly to the cleaned body panel.
4. At low ambient temperatures, the mat can be gently heated to about 40–50 °C to facilitate installation and adhesion (this is generally not necessary at normal temperatures).
5. Next, use a pressure roller to carefully press the mat into place, ensuring there are no air bubbles, until it is fully in contact with the sheet metal.
6. For maximum sound insulation, a second layer of sound absorbers or acoustic foam can then be applied.
