Comfort Mat Spider - 3.5 MM

The Comfort Mat Spider 3.5 mm was developed for areas subject to severe vibrations and resonance. Thanks to its high-quality butyl-polymer compound with a sturdy aluminum top layer, it effectively reduces structure-borne noise and vibrations in the vehicle body. This minimizes annoying resonance, improves the audio system’s sound quality, and significantly reduces road noise at the same time.

Spider 3.5 mm is applied directly to the body panel as the first layer of insulation. It stiffens large sheet metal panels, reduces their natural vibrations, and creates the ideal foundation for additional sound insulation using closed-cell foams or acoustic absorbers as a second layer. Thanks to its high adhesive strength and water resistance, it is suitable for both the interior and high-stress areas of the vehicle.

Quick Installation Guide

1. Thoroughly clean the surface to be covered of dirt, dust, grease, and wax.
2. Cut the mat to the desired size and place it so that it fits perfectly.
3. Spider 3.5 mm can generally be applied without heating. At low ambient temperatures, it is recommended to gently heat the material with a heat gun to increase its flexibility and initial adhesion.
4. Remove the protective film and place the mat on the sheet metal.
5. Next, use a pressure roller to roll over the surface evenly and firmly until the aluminum surface is completely flush with the car body and there are no more air pockets.
6. To maximize sound insulation, cover as large an area of the sheet metal as possible—either completely or over a large portion of the surface—and then apply a second layer of sound-insulating material if necessary.
