Panther - 2.5 MM

The Comfort Mat Panther is a high-quality aluminum-butyl damping mat designed for the first layer of sound deadening and was specifically developed to reduce vibrations, resonances, and structure-borne noise directly at the source. By combining a high-performance butyl layer with a robust aluminum foil, it increases the stiffness of thin body panels while simultaneously improving sound quality and ride comfort.

With a material thickness of 2.5 mm, the Panther is particularly well-suited for areas subject to moderate to high levels of vibration. It stands out for its strong adhesive strength, water and corrosion resistance, and ease of installation—even on slightly curved surfaces. Thanks to its flexible material structure, it is ideal for car audio projects and professional vehicle sound deadening.

Effect of the First Insulation Layer

Quick Installation Guide

1. Remove the vehicle trim and expose the areas to be insulated.
2. Thoroughly clean surfaces to remove dust, grease, and moisture (e.g., with a silicone remover or isopropyl alcohol).
3. Cut the insulation mat to the desired size.
4. In low ambient temperatures, the mat can be gently warmed with a heat gun or hair dryer to further improve its flexibility and adhesion (this is generally not necessary with Panther).
5. Remove the protective film and apply the mat to the cleaned surface.
6. Next, use a pressure roller to roll over the surface evenly and with firm pressure until the mat lies flat across the entire surface without any bubbles.
7. To maximize sound insulation, cover as large an area of the sheet metal as possible. An optional second layer of acoustic foam can then be applied for additional airborne sound absorption.
