The Audio System Italy ASY 15 is a high-performance 15-inch subwoofer designed for car audio systems that require powerful low-frequency bass and dynamic response. With its large 38-cm cone, the ASY 15 combines a large cone area with a powerful ferrite driver, making it suitable for both high-impact music systems and performance-oriented bass installations.
The diaphragm is made of uncoated, unpressed paper containing cotton fibers. This combination of materials ensures a comparatively low diaphragm weight while maintaining good stiffness. A reinforced suspension system with progressive, double-layer spiders supports controlled diaphragm movement even at higher volume levels.
A 75-mm (3-inch) dual voice coil with a four-layer construction is used to ensure electrical power handling capability. The voice coil features a dual 2-ohm configuration, which allows for a total impedance of 1 or 4 ohms when wired appropriately. Ventilation openings on the voice coil carrier and the basket design, which is optimized for heat dissipation, aid in cooling under high load conditions.
With a resonance frequency of 34.8 Hz and a linear cone excursion of 32 mm Xmax, the ASY 15 offers excellent conditions for deep yet powerful bass reproduction. Thanks to its mounting depth of approximately 181 mm, this large 38-cm subwoofer can also be used in a variety of enclosure designs.
