Heltec 6S Active Balancer 5A

The Heltec 6S Active Balancer 5A was developed for active voltage balancing within a battery pack consisting of six lithium cells connected in series. Unlike a passive balancer, excess energy is not simply converted into heat. Instead, the system uses active energy transfer to balance voltage differences between the individual cells.

The balancer draws the power it needs directly from the connected battery pack and therefore does not require a separate external power supply. All cells in the pack participate in active balancing. This makes the system particularly well-suited for larger lithium-ion battery packs that require high-performance cell balancing.

The maximum balancing current is up to 5 A and depends on the voltage difference between the cells. For example, with a voltage difference of about 0.1 V, the balancing current is approximately 0.5 A. The greater the voltage difference, the higher the balancing current can become.

An automatic undervoltage sleep function reduces energy consumption when cell voltage is low. In addition, the voltage display allows you to monitor the entire battery pack as well as the voltages of individual cells.
