The Comfort Mat BLOCKSHOT 8 mm is a high-quality, multi-layered sound insulator designed to effectively reduce airborne and road noise in vehicles. The combination of a high-density acoustic membrane, a sound-absorbing intermediate layer, and a highly adhesive butyl adhesive layer ensures significantly improved noise insulation across a wide frequency range. BLOCKSHOT is not applied directly to the sheet metal but is used as a second insulation layer on top of an already installed aluminum butyl or vibration-damping mat. This effectively reduces residual vibrations, airborne noise, and resonances, and noticeably improves ride comfort. The material is completely waterproof, does not absorb moisture, and is therefore also suitable for demanding installation locations within the vehicle.

  • Moisture-resistant
  • Suitable for vertical and horizontal surfaces

Areas of Application

  • Use as a second insulation layer over existing aluminum butyl or a vibration-damping mat
  • Vehicle Floor
  • Trunk floor
  • Car doors
  • Wheel wells
  • Roof surfaces
  • Large sheet metal surfaces in vans and RVs
  • Interior trim panels with sufficient space for 8 mm-thick material

Effect of the Second Insulation Layer

  • Significantly reduces airborne noise and road noise
  • Reduces tire, road, and wind noise
  • Improves sound insulation across a wide frequency range
  • Complements the vibration damping provided by aluminum butyl for optimal overall performance
  • Improves acoustic ride comfort
  • Enables more precise and cleaner music playback by reducing background noise
  • Waterproof and suitable for long-term use in vehicles

Quick Installation Guide

  1. Thoroughly clean the surface to remove dust, grease, oil, and moisture.
  2. First, apply a layer of vibration damping material (alubutyl) completely over the sheet metal and roll it on carefully.
  3. Cut BLOCKSHOT to the desired size.
  4. At low application temperatures, gently warm the mat to approximately 40–50 °C to improve its flexibility and adhesive properties.
  5. Remove the protective film and apply BLOCKSHOT as a second layer over the previously installed aluminum butyl.
  6. Press down evenly and firmly over the entire surface with a pressure roller to ensure optimal adhesion.
  7. Then reinstall the trim and ensure there is sufficient installation space.

Comfort Mat BLOCKSHOT is the ideal second layer of sound deadening for anyone who, in addition to damping vibrations, wants to effectively reduce the transmission of airborne sound and significantly improve the acoustic quality of their vehicle's interior.
