HiFonics Zeus Extreme Series
HiFonics has stood for EXTREME performance and superlatives for over 35 years. Everyone knows: HiFonics stands for strength, power and a lot of pressure. To match the new "ÜBER" power amplifiers from the ZEUS EXTREME ZXT series with up to 13,000 watts RMS, the matching ZEUS EXTREME ZXT subwoofers are now being added to the range. Particularly striking is the triple magnet, which is the same size in all woofers and protected by a blue boat, whose lush ferrite rings alone weigh an impressive 8.5 kg without the chrome-plated steel pole plates.
The newly developed "Reinforced Structure Array" surrounds reinforced with vertical elements for the ZXT woofers also give an idea of how much excursion the carbon-reinforced cones can achieve. These remain as hard as a rock and are even comparatively light thanks to the triple sandwich structure. To ensure that the cones can make optimum use of the stroke, they are guided by triple Nomex spiders as if on rails. This ensures that the cones do not tilt even at extreme power levels.
The Zeus subwoofers are also ideally equipped thermally: The 10-inch woofer, for example, already uses 76 mm voice coils, and from the 12-inch model upwards even gigantic 100 mm voice coils. With an incredible 58 mm winding height, the cones can thus achieve a linear excursion of +/- 23 mm. The voice coil is made of special pi-CCAR flat wire, which is an aluminum flat wire with a copper coating that saves weight and is also heat-resistant up to 240 degrees. All in all, these are ingredients that impressively demonstrate the exceptional quality of the woofers. If you are looking for the ultimate level woofers, the ZEUS EXTREME ZXT series is a must.
