The HiFonics ZXT5.0 from the ZEUS EXTREME series is a high-performance hybrid buffer capacitor with a capacity of 5.0 farads, designed specifically to stabilize the power supply of high-end car audio systems.

High-power subwoofer amplifiers, in particular, generate short-term spikes in current demand during intense bass pulses. These can cause voltage dips in the vehicle's electrical system and impair the amplifier's power delivery.

Thanks to modern hybrid technology, the ZXT5.0 combines high storage capacity with exceptionally low internal resistance. This enables the capacitor to deliver stored energy in a very short time and compensate for short-term voltage fluctuations.

The built-in three-digit digital display allows for convenient monitoring of the onboard voltage. Generously sized terminals for cable cross-sections up to 50 mm² facilitate integration into high-performance car audio systems.

The rule of thumb is: 1 farad per 1,000 watts RMS power. The HiFonics ZXT5.0, with its 5 farads, is ideal for systems up to 5,000 watts and offers sufficient headroom for high-power subwoofer amplifiers.

How do you connect the Zeus Extreme ZXT5.0 correctly?

The capacitor is connected in parallel with the battery, between the positive and earth terminals. Important: Before connecting it for the first time, the Powercap must be pre-charged using the supplied charging resistor to prevent sparking.

What does ESR mean in relation to the HiFonics capacitor?

ESR stands for Equivalent Series Resistance (internal resistance). The ZXT5.0 has a particularly low ESR value, which enables it to efficiently deliver fast current pulses to the amplifier – ideal for powerful bass.

How long does a 5 farad hybrid capacitor last?
