AudioControl EPIC4000

The AudioControl EPIC4000 is an uncompromisingly performance-oriented mono amplifier designed for high-end subwoofer systems and high-power car audio installations. With an output power of up to 4,000 watts RMS into 1 ohm, this Class-D amplifier provides enormous power reserves for subwoofers capable of handling such loads.

Its Class-D circuit, designed for high currents, combines high output power with efficient operation. The EPIC4000 is stable at 1 ohm and is therefore particularly well-suited for high-power subwoofer setups with low total impedance.

To ensure precise tuning of the bass range, an adjustable Linkwitz-Riley low-pass filter ranging from 40 to 180 Hz and an adjustable subsonic filter down to 50 Hz are available. Especially with bass-reflex enclosures, the subsonic filter can be used to limit the low-bass range that cannot be effectively utilized by the respective enclosure.

EPIC Boost offers additional options for bass tuning. You can select a cutoff frequency between 30 and 80 Hz and boost that frequency range by up to 12 dB. This allows you to fine-tune the bass response to suit your subwoofer, vehicle, and personal preferences.

The EPICENTER link also allows you to conveniently connect the amplifier to an AudioControl THE EPICENTER Bass Restoration Processor, which is sold separately. The ACR-E wired remote control for volume control from the driver's seat is included with the amplifier.

An integrated Smart Auto-Reset Protection System monitors various critical operating conditions. These include, among others, output overcurrent, input overvoltage and undervoltage, output DC voltage, and excessive operating temperature.

Power Supply Requirements

Due to its high output power, the EPIC4000 requires a power supply with sufficient capacity.

• Two 50 mm² positive leads are required
• Two 50 mm² ground wires are required
• A 200-A fuse is required for each positive wire
• Manufacturer's recommendation: Install fuses no more than approximately 30 cm from the battery
• High-quality OFC copper cable recommended for positive and ground connections
• A sufficiently rated vehicle power supply is required to operate a power amplifier in this power class
