THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN ICON
The roots of the RAMPAGE series date back to 2012, when it emerged from the legendary and innovative X2C subwoofer with its 5-inch voice coil. Although the RAMPAGE is based on a 4-inch voice coil platform, it not only pays homage to its heritage but also pushes the boundaries further.

The new basket design features improved SAFT (Smooth Air Flow Technology) for better cooling and offers a higher XMAX rating compared to the previous basket design. With a peak-to-peak excursion of 80 mm (3.15 inches)—made possible by the use of 254 mm (10-inch) spiders in this 12-inch driver—you’ll experience significantly less distortion. All the small details of these handcrafted marvels come into play as soon as you start pushing the limits.

WIDE DESIGN
The OCAF Version II (Optimized Cooling and Flow) integrated into the new motor design takes into account the large pole piece bores of the X2C pole plate. In addition, the pole piece is equipped with a dual cooling system that effectively draws air away from the voice coil. Despite an inner diameter of 4 inches, the outer diameter of 4.33 inches classifies this voice coil as a widebody. The 8-layer, high-turn design is built for daily use and long demos, and it handles intense use with ease.

The RAMPAGE’s motor has the same 10.24-inch diameter as previous XM subwoofers, but the triple-stacked Y35 ferrite cores have been enlarged by 25%. Despite this improvement, we’ve managed to increase the total height of the motor by only 10% compared to the second-generation XM. The enhanced Xmech takes advantage of this additional height to further improve performance.
