The net volume is always particularly important here; calculate the pure chamber of the subwoofer beforehand to arrive at the correct result. The net volume is calculated minus all displacements and is important when designing the enclosure.

The AudioControl EPICXV12 is a high-performance 30-cm enclosure subwoofer from the EPICX series that comes factory-installed in an optimally tuned bass-reflex enclosure. The combination of a large 30-cm woofer, a powerful driver, and a low enclosure tuning frequency of 31 Hz delivers powerful low-frequency bass with high dynamics—ideal for car audio systems that require rich yet controlled bass.

With a power handling capacity of 500 watts RMS and a total impedance of 1 ohm, the EPICXV12 is particularly well-suited for high-power mono power amplifiers. The 60-mm voice coil is designed for high power handling and fast response to bass impulses. The bass-reflex enclosure further enhances the low-frequency response and ensures high efficiency without the need to design and build a separate subwoofer enclosure.

Among other features, AudioControl’s EPICXV12 utilizes an unpressed paper cone, which provides a balanced combination of light weight, stability, and natural bass reproduction. A composite foam surround ensures controlled cone movement even at higher volume levels. Large quick-connect terminals also ensure a secure connection to the power amplifier.

Thanks to its rear-slanted enclosure, the subwoofer can be positioned in the trunk to save space. With its low-frequency tuning, the EPICXV12 is suitable for electronic music and hip-hop as well as rock and other genres that require a powerful low-frequency foundation. The system pairs particularly well with the bass processors from the AudioControl Epicenter series.
