What components does a car subwoofer consist of?

A car subwoofer set usually consists of an enclosure and a matching cabinet. The two components are matched to each other and offer perfect sound and a secure hold. The majority of our sets contain empty subwoofer enclosures that we manufacture ourselves. They are of high quality and reproduce a tremendous sound, especially in the low bass range. Thanks to our many years of experience, we know what criteria a subwoofer enclosure must fulfil. We combine these empty enclosures with matching speakers from various brands. They are securely held in place and reproduce an enormous amount of bass in your boot, in the spare wheel well and in the interior in general. With a complete set like this, you're well equipped.

Frequently asked questions about our subwoofer sets & enclosures

Where should I install a subwoofer?

You have various options for installing your subwoofer. The boot and the recess for the spare wheel are particularly popular. In the boot, the subwoofer is isolated from the other devices, which has various advantages. There are also some subwoofers that you can place under a seat.

What is an active subwoofer?

An active subwoofer also has a built-in amplifier. This can lead to a better sound experience. Active subwoofers are usually easy to install and affordable. Passive subwoofers, on the other hand, offer you more flexibility in terms of bass reproduction.

What diameters for subwoofers can I find in the MT Audio Shop?

We not only have different brands of subwoofers in our range, but also different sizes. The available diameters include 16.5, 20, 25 and 30 cm. Whether you opt for a compact or larger model usually depends on which speaker can be accommodated in the boot.

Are the subwoofer car sets in stock?

Yes, we usually have our subwoofer sets in stock. This ensures that we can dispatch your order as quickly as possible and it will reach you within a few days. Before ordering, it is best to check on the respective product page whether the set of your choice is in stock.
