Aerospace GALAXY - 7 MM

The Comfort Mat Aerospace GALAXY was developed for demanding vehicle insulation applications that require exceptionally high insulation performance with as little added weight as possible. Thanks to its innovative multilayer construction, it combines vibration damping, sound insulation, and body panel reinforcement in a single layer of material. As a result, the traditional combination of aluminum butyl and an additional sound-deadening mat is no longer necessary in many applications.

With its integrated heavy foil and vibroacoustic mastic layer, Aerospace GALAXY is particularly well-suited for areas with high noise and resonance levels. Vehicle floors, wheel wells, and doors, in particular, benefit from significantly improved acoustics as well as a noticeable reduction in road, tire, and rolling noise. At the same time, the material increases the stability of large sheet metal surfaces and minimizes disruptive resonances.

The single-layer design not only simplifies installation but also reduces the overall weight compared to conventional two-layer systems—making it ideal for electric vehicles, sports cars, and high-end car audio projects.

Quick Installation Guide

1. Remove the vehicle trim and completely expose the surface to be covered with the film.
2. Thoroughly clean the surface and then degrease it with a silicone-free degreaser.
3. Cut the insulation mat to the required size.
4. At low ambient temperatures, gently warm the mat to about 40–50 °C to improve its flexibility and adhesion.
5. Remove the protective film and place the mat on the cleaned surface.
6. Using a pressure roller, press firmly and evenly from the center outward until a full-surface bond is achieved.
7. Cover particularly large sheet metal surfaces as completely as possible to minimize resonance and structure-borne noise as much as possible.
