The Phoenix Gold ZXT8D2 is an ultra-slim 20-cm subwoofer designed for car audio installations where installation depth and enclosure volume are limited. Despite its compact design, the subwoofer delivers powerful bass and is therefore ideal for space-saving subwoofer solutions in vehicles.

The lightweight yet torsionally rigid fiberglass diaphragm forms the basis for controlled bass reproduction. A robust rubber surround supports the required cone excursion and, together with the polycotton spider, ensures precise guidance of the moving assembly. With a linear cone excursion of 10 mm, the ZXT8D2 offers impressive performance reserves for a subwoofer of this slim design.

For the driver, Phoenix Gold uses a 50-mm voice coil made of oxygen-free copper (OFC) in combination with a ferrite magnet system. The dual 2-ohm voice coil also allows for different connection options and makes it easier to match the subwoofer amplifier being used.

One of the ZXT8D2’s key strengths is its compact design. With an installation depth of just 77 mm, this 8-inch subwoofer can be used even in spaces where a conventional woofer cannot be accommodated due to design constraints. Phoenix Gold recommends a sealed enclosure with a net volume between 5 and 16 liters for this subwoofer. The manufacturer expressly does not recommend this model for bass-reflex enclosures.

Alternatively, the ZXT8D2 can be combined with the Phoenix Gold ZXT8PR passive radiator, which is sold separately. This allows for compact enclosure designs that deliver impressive bass reproduction despite limited space.
