Phoenix Gold ZMAX82

The Phoenix Gold ZMAX82 is a no-compromise 20-cm subwoofer designed for high-performance car audio systems. Despite its compact 8-inch size, the driver can handle 500 watts RMS and is rated for short-term power peaks of up to 1,500 watts. This makes the ZMAX82 particularly well-suited for installations where high sound pressure levels and powerful low-frequency bass are required in a limited installation space.

To deliver powerful performance, Phoenix Gold relies on a solid, triple-layered magnet assembly featuring a 100-oz magnet. The generously sized voice coil and long-throw design enable high cone excursion. With a linear Xmax of 14.5 mm, the ZMAX82 has the necessary headroom to move a substantial amount of air even at high volume levels.

A high-profile rolled surround supports the cone’s large mechanical excursion. The stitched surround also ensures a durable connection and is designed to withstand the high mechanical stresses of an SPL subwoofer. The sturdy aluminum basket provides a torsionally rigid base for the driver and cone assembly.

Thanks to its dual 2-ohm voice coils (2 × 2 ohms), the ZMAX82 offers flexible connection options when paired with high-power mono or multichannel power amplifiers. Sturdy push terminals make it easy to connect large speaker cables while ensuring a secure connection.
