Phoenix Gold ZDBMW4CS

The Phoenix Gold ZDBMW4CS is a vehicle-specific 2-way component speaker system designed to enhance the sound quality of various BMW models. The system combines a 100-mm midrange driver with an aluminum cone and a separate 25-mm tweeter with a silk dome. Thanks to its vehicle-specific design and the included mounting adapters, the speaker system can be installed largely on a plug-and-play basis in the designated original mounting locations.

The lightweight yet rigid aluminum cone of the 100-mm midrange driver enables controlled reproduction of vocals and instruments. It is complemented by a 25-mm silk dome tweeter, which reproduces the high-frequency range with rich detail and a pleasant sound. A separate 2-way crossover divides the audio signal between the midrange driver and the tweeter.

A special feature of the ZDBMW4CS is its integrated, switchable bass blocker. In BMW vehicles equipped with the Basic Sound System, the door speakers and under-seat woofers sometimes receive the same full-range audio signal. As a result, the small 100-mm door speakers may be overloaded with low frequencies that are not necessary for their intended purpose. When the bass blocker is activated, frequencies below 120 Hz are filtered with a slope of 12 dB per octave. This relieves the midrange driver in the low-bass range, which can contribute to cleaner and more controlled sound reproduction, especially at higher volumes.

For installation, Phoenix Gold uses a dual aluminum mounting system. The different brackets accommodate various factory BMW mounting options while ensuring a secure fit for the speakers.
