Phoenix Gold ZDA6.8 DSP

The Phoenix Gold ZDA6.8 combines a high-quality 6-channel Class A/B amplifier with a highly configurable 8-channel DSP. This makes the compact unit particularly well-suited for high-end OEM sound upgrades and custom-tuned car audio systems.

Unlike many compact DSP amplifiers, Phoenix Gold uses Class A/B technology in the ZDA6.8. At 4 ohms, it offers four channels, each delivering 30 watts RMS, as well as two more powerful channels, each delivering 70 watts RMS. This results in a total RMS output power of 260 watts at 4 ohms.

The integrated DSP system operates at 24 bits and a 48 kHz sampling rate. A Burr-Brown PCM1681 D/A converter handles the signal conversion. Eight DSP channels enable extensive signal processing and simultaneously provide eight RCA preamp outputs. This allows additional power amplifiers to be integrated should the system be expanded at a later date.

For custom sound tuning, features include a 31-band equalizer, high- and low-pass filters, various filter characteristics, delay correction, phase adjustment, and a freely configurable signal path. Tuning can be performed using the Phoenix Gold DSP software.

The ZDA6.8 also demonstrates flexibility when integrating into existing factory systems. Six high-level inputs allow for direct connection to OEM radios and factory amplifiers. In addition, there are low-level and digital inputs. OIS (OEM Impedance Simulation) technology supports integration into modern vehicle systems, while start-stop compatibility facilitates use in current vehicles.

Thanks to its built-in Bluetooth 5.0 functionality, the DSP amplifier can also receive audio signals directly via wireless connection. For vehicle-specific plug-and-play installations, the ZDA6.8 is equipped with Molex connectors and can be combined with compatible Phoenix Gold ZDC and ZDT cable sets.
