Phoenix Gold ZDA4.8 DSP

The Phoenix Gold ZDA4.8 combines a high-quality 4-channel Class A/B amplifier with a powerful 8-channel DSP in a single unit. This makes it particularly well-suited for sophisticated car audio upgrades where the existing factory radio is retained but the audio system still needs to be extensively tuned.

Four built-in amplifier channels each deliver 70 watts RMS into 4 ohms. A total of eight DSP-controlled RCA outputs with an output voltage of up to 4 V are available for further system expansion. This allows, for example, additional power amplifiers for subwoofers, active front speakers, or other speakers to be specifically integrated into the sound design. The digital signal processing is based on 24-bit DSP resolution with a 48-kHz sampling rate and a Burr Brown PCM1681 DAC.

For integration into existing vehicle systems, the ZDA4.8 offers six high-level and two low-level inputs. In addition, digital and wireless signal sources can be integrated via Bluetooth 5.0, coaxial, USB, and SPDIF. Auto-Turn-On and compatibility with start-stop vehicles simplify its use in modern vehicles.

The extensive DSP features allow for precise tuning of any audio system. These include a 31-band equalizer, high- and low-pass filters, various filter characteristics, time alignment, and customizable level, routing, and phase settings. Configuration on a PC is done via USB-B; Phoenix Gold also lists control via an Android/iOS app as a feature of the current ZD series.
