The Phoenix Gold Z12D4 is a high-performance 30-cm subwoofer from the Z Series, designed to deliver powerful yet controlled bass reproduction in the vehicle. With a 400-watt RMS power handling capacity, two 4-ohm voice coils, and a maximum power handling capacity of 1,600 watts, this subwoofer is ideal for performance-oriented car audio systems as well as for building a powerful all-around bass system.

A distinctive feature of the Z12D4 is its long-wound 2-inch high-temperature copper voice coil. Combined with the long-throw centering spider, this design enables a large diaphragm excursion of 40 mm peak-to-peak. As a result, the driver can generate high sound pressure levels even with powerful bass pulses and reproduce low frequencies with ease.

The dual 4-ohm voice coil (2 x 4 Ω) offers additional wiring options when connected to a compatible power amplifier. Depending on the amplifier used, the two voice coils can be wired accordingly, making it easier to tune the subwoofer to different car audio systems.

To ensure a durable and robust design, Phoenix Gold relies on features such as a black anodized aluminum voice coil carrier, a stitched High-Roll rubber surround, and a long-stroke centering spider. Convenient push terminals make it easy to connect the speaker cables.

With an installation depth of 159 mm, the 12-inch subwoofer remains relatively easy to install despite its high performance. Phoenix Gold has designed the Z12D4 for use in both sealed enclosures and bass-reflex enclosures.
