Wiring Wizard & Port Calculator

Use our wiring assistant for easy speaker and subwoofer connections! The correct connection is important for your amplifier! Low-impedance operation can damage the amplifier! The datasheet shows you which connection each amplifier is designed for!

Our port calculator shows you the tuning characteristics of your enclosure! The net volume is always particularly important here; calculate the subwoofer’s actual resonant chamber volume beforehand to get the correct result. The net volume is calculated by subtracting all dead spaces and is crucial for enclosure design.

The Ground Zero GZNW 38NEO-XSPL was developed without compromise for professional SPL applications and is one of the most powerful subwoofers in the NUCLEAR series. Its sophisticated multi-element neodymium magnet system delivers enormous magnetic force despite its comparatively low weight and enables maximum efficiency even under extreme loads. The Klippel®-optimized design ensures precise control of the cone’s movement and reduces distortion even at maximum excursion.

The exceptionally lightweight yet extremely rigid carbon diaphragm works in conjunction with a 75-mm, 8-layer CCA flat-wire voice coil, enabling it to reliably handle even continuous power output in the multi-kilowatt range. The system is complemented by an aerodynamically optimized cast aluminum basket and a solid 7-layer centering ring, which ensures maximum stability even at extreme sound pressure levels.

The GZNW 38NEO-XSPL is designed for ambitious SPL competitors and high-end car audio enthusiasts who demand uncompromising signal stability, enormous power handling, and the highest build quality. Its powerful driver and exceptionally long linear excursion deliver impressive deep bass and extreme sound pressure levels in appropriately tuned enclosures.

Frequently asked questions about the GZNW 38NEO-XSPL subwoofer

How many watts can the Ground Zero GZNW 38NEO-XSPL subwoofer handle?

The Ground Zero GZNW 38NEO-XSPL is designed for extreme loads and can handle 6,000 watts RMS as well as up to 25,000 watts peak (3 seconds). For optimum performance, an amplifier in the range of 3,000 to 6,000 watts RMS with a matching impedance is recommended.

What size enclosure does the 38 cm SPL subwoofer require for the best results?

For maximum SPL, a bass-reflex enclosure with a net volume of 80–120 litres is recommended. The exact tuning depends on the desired frequency range – for competitions, smaller enclosures tuned to higher frequencies are often the best choice.

What materials is the cone of the high-performance subwoofer made of?

The diaphragm features a special sandwich construction with carbon reinforcement for maximum rigidity and minimum weight. The 8-layer centring system, combined with the robust suspension, ensures extreme excursion without distortion.

How should the Ground Zero Nuclear subwoofer be positioned?

Store the GZNW 38NEO-XSPL in a dry place at room temperature and protect it from direct sunlight. The magnet system, which uses neodymium technology, is sensitive to temperature – avoid storing it at temperatures below 5°C or above 35°C.

What is included with the GZNW 38NEO-XSPL?

The subwoofer is supplied individually in sturdy packaging, including mounting screws and an instruction manual. The connection terminals are pre-fitted – for professional installation, we recommend using high-quality cable accessories with a cross-section of at least 35 mm².

Can I also use the SPL subwoofer for listening to normal music?

Although optimised for SPL applications, the GZNW 38NEO-XSPL delivers impressive deep bass even during normal music playback. The precise diaphragm control and powerful magnet system enable both immense impact and well-defined bass reproduction.

What is the installation depth required for the 38 cm Ground Zero subwoofer?

The Ground Zero GZNW 38NEO-XSPL requires an installation depth of 315 mm. Despite its solid construction, the flow-optimised cast aluminium basket ensures stable installation.

At what resonance frequency does the Nuclear Subwoofer operate most efficiently?

The free-air resonance frequency (Fs) of the GZNW 38NEO-XSPL is 31 Hz. When housed in a tuned enclosure, this enables extremely powerful low-frequency bass with high efficiency in the SPL-relevant frequency range.
