The net volume is always particularly important here; calculate the pure chamber of the subwoofer beforehand to arrive at the correct result. The net volume is calculated minus all displacements and is important when designing the enclosure.

The AudioControl EPICXV8 is a compact, high-performance 20-cm bass-reflex subwoofer designed to deliver powerful low-frequency bass while taking up minimal space. The pre-tuned bass-reflex enclosure eliminates the need for complex enclosure calculations and allows for easy integration into a wide variety of car audio systems.

Inside, there is a 20-cm subwoofer with a 400-watt RMS power handling capacity and an impedance of 1 ohm. This makes the EPICXV8 particularly well-suited for high-power mono amplifiers that deliver their high output power at low impedances. AudioControl recommends the EPIC500 amplifier as a matching pair.

The lightweight 50-mm high-temperature voice coil is designed for fast and controlled bass reproduction. Combined with the composite foam surround and the sturdy cone construction, the subwoofer delivers dynamic sound even at higher volume levels. The enclosure is tuned to 38 Hz, enabling powerful bass reproduction despite the compact 20-cm driver.

Large-diameter quick-release connection terminals with a black nickel finish ensure a secure, low-impedance connection to the amplifier. The EPICXV8 is also particularly appealing for systems featuring an AudioControl EPICENTER, as the EPICX series was designed to work in conjunction with AudioControl’s renowned Bass Restoration technology.
