The net volume is always particularly important here; calculate the pure chamber of the subwoofer beforehand to arrive at the correct result. The net volume is calculated minus all displacements and is important when designing the enclosure.

The AudioControl A65 from the Altitude Series is a high-quality 2-way coaxial speaker designed for car audio applications. The woofer/midrange driver and tweeter are combined into a single, space-saving speaker unit. This makes the A65 particularly well-suited for replacing existing car speakers when a straightforward installation with balanced full-range sound is desired.

The precision-molded glass-fiber cone of the mid-bass driver combines a sturdy construction with controlled sound reproduction. A durable butyl rubber surround ensures smooth cone movement and controlled reproduction in the lower frequency range. For the high frequencies, AudioControl relies on a silk dome tweeter designed to deliver detailed yet pleasant high-frequency reproduction.

The reinforced slimline steel basket keeps the installation depth compact, making it easier to integrate into a variety of vehicle mounting locations. With a 4-ohm impedance, an RMS power handling capacity of 100 watts per speaker, and a frequency response ranging from 65 Hz to 20 kHz, the A65 can be used with compatible car stereos or, particularly effectively, in combination with a separate car audio amplifier.

Recommended Setting

AudioControl recommends an amplifier power output in the range of approximately 25 to 100 watts for the A65. When using a subwoofer, a high-pass filter (HPF) set to 80 Hz is recommended. If the system is operated without a subwoofer, the high-pass filter can be set to approximately 60 Hz to enable more powerful bass reproduction
