How do you connect the ESX DC500 correctly?

The ESX DC500 features a built-in distribution block for easy installation. Connect the positive cable (16 mm²) and the negative cable (also 16 mm²) to the corresponding terminals. You then route the 10 mm² outputs to your amplifier. The remote terminal is connected to the remote cable from your power amplifier.

What is the capacity of the DC500, and what is it sufficient for?

The Power Cap has a capacitance of 0.5 farads. This capacitance is ideal for amplifiers up to around 1,000 watts RMS. For larger power amplifiers or systems with multiple amplifiers, a capacitor with a higher capacitance or the use of several capacitors is recommended.

Can I also use the DC500 with digital power amplifiers?

Yes, the ESX DC500 is suitable for both analogue and digital amplifiers. The buffer capacitor technology supports all common types of car audio amplifiers and ensures a stable power supply regardless of the amplifier type.

Where should the power cap be fitted in the car?

The ESX DC500 should be fitted as close as possible to the amplifier, ideally with a cable run of no more than 50 cm. Thanks to its compact design, it fits even in small boot spaces. Ensure there is good ventilation and avoid fitting it directly next to heat sources.

Do I need any extra fuses for the DC500?

The Power Cap itself does not require a separate fuse, as it is integrated into the existing power supply. The main fuse in your car audio system also protects the capacitor. The only important thing is that the cable cross-sections and fuses are suitable for the total power output of your system.
