AudioControl EPICPRO6X

The AudioControl EPICPRO6X is a high-performance 16.5-cm midrange driver from the EPIC PRO series, specifically designed for car audio systems requiring high efficiency and high sound pressure levels. With a power handling capacity of up to 200 watts RMS, a sensitivity of 94.8 dB (1 W/1 m), and a wide frequency response, it is particularly well-suited for performance-oriented front systems and SPL setups.

A distinctive feature of the EPICPRO6X is the Phase-Cap design developed by AudioControl. It combines the characteristics of a classic dust-cap dome with those of a phase plug, helping to expand the usable frequency range, improve efficiency, and enable a smoother transition into the high-frequency range. Lightweight moving parts and precision-manufactured components support fast and dynamic sound reproduction, even at high volume levels.

The rigid paper cone ensures controlled yet powerful midrange reproduction, while the double-rolled fabric surround supports precise cone movement. A sturdy steel basket provides a robust foundation for the driver. In addition, AudioControl uses a copper short-circuit ring designed to reduce distortion and expand the usable frequency range.

Thanks to its high sensitivity, the EPICPRO6X requires relatively little amplifier power to achieve high volume levels. The actual RMS power handling capability depends on the selected high-pass filter setting. AudioControl specifies 120 to 200 watts RMS, depending on the cutoff frequency.
