The net volume is always particularly important here; calculate the pure chamber of the subwoofer beforehand to arrive at the correct result. The net volume is calculated minus all displacements and is important when designing the enclosure.

The AudioControl EPICXV10 is a high-performance 25-cm enclosure subwoofer from the EPICX series that combines powerful low-frequency bass with controlled and precise reproduction. The subwoofer comes pre-installed in an optimally tuned bass-reflex enclosure, making it ideal for car audio systems that require high bass levels without the need for complex enclosure calculations.

With a 500-watt RMS power handling capacity and an impedance of just 1 ohm, the EPICXV10 can be driven particularly efficiently by high-power mono power amplifiers. The bass-reflex enclosure is tuned to 33 Hz, delivering powerful low-frequency response. AudioControl recommends the EPIC500, for example, as a suitable amplifier.

The lightweight, high-temperature voice coil enables the woofer to respond quickly and dynamically, even under heavy load. A composite foam surround supports controlled cone movement, while the unpressed paper cone is designed for natural and powerful bass reproduction. Large, black nickel-plated quick-connect terminals also ensure a reliable, low-impedance connection to the amplifier.

The rugged enclosure is not only designed for maximum bass output, but its tapered shape also offers practical advantages when installing it in the trunk. Thanks to the difference in depth between the top and bottom of the enclosure, the subwoofer can, for example, be positioned against a rear seatback to save space.
