AudioControl EPICX10 D2/D4

The AudioControl EPICX10 is a powerful 25-cm (10") subwoofer from the EPICX series, designed to deliver powerful yet controlled bass reproduction in the vehicle. With a 500-watt RMS power handling capacity, a rugged construction, and a long-throw voice coil, it is suitable for both sound-oriented systems and setups that require powerful and dynamic bass.

The unpressed paper cone combines a relatively low weight with high rigidity, thereby supporting natural and precise bass reproduction. A durable composite foam surround enables controlled cone movement even at higher volume levels. The sturdy steel basket and the powerful magnet system provide the necessary mechanical stability. Large, nickel-plated quick-connect terminals also ensure a reliable connection for the speaker cable.

Thanks to the dual-voice-coil design, two variants are available: The EPICX10 D2 features two 2-ohm voice coils, while the EPICX10 D4 is equipped with two 4-ohm voice coils. This allows the subwoofer to be flexibly adapted to different amplifier configurations and desired connection impedances.

AudioControl has released the EPICX10 for both sealed and bass-reflex enclosures. In a standard sealed or vented enclosure, the power handling capacity is 500 watts RMS. For particularly large bass-reflex enclosures, AudioControl recommends a reduced power rating of 400 watts RMS to keep the cone excursion under control.
