A highly efficient cooling system with a large pole piece bore and flow-optimized basket design ensures continuous air circulation. This prevents overheating and thermal compression effects, allowing the subwoofer to deliver consistently high performance even under continuous load.

With the innovative Tuneable Mass System (TMS), the HELIX IQ W8-DVC2 offers a completely new option for individual sound tuning. The moving mass of the subwoofer can be varied by adding or removing additional weights within the dustcap. This adjustment changes the Thiele-Small parameters and thus directly influences the resonance frequency, the overall quality and the efficiency of the subwoofer.

Depending on the configuration selected, the sound image changes significantly. Without additional weight, the resonance frequency remains in the upper range, resulting in particularly fast impulse fidelity and high efficiency. This tuning is perfect for volume-optimized setups and precise bass reproduction with maximum level reserve. As the mass increases, the resonance frequency is reduced, allowing the subwoofer to reproduce lower frequencies with greater emphasis. This is particularly advantageous for closed enclosures or low-tuned bass reflex constructions, as it enables a particularly voluminous and powerful bass response to be achieved.

The ability to adjust the moving mass allows the subwoofer to be precisely tuned to the respective enclosure volume and the acoustic conditions of the vehicle. While a higher moving mass enables a lower cut-off frequency, the efficiency remains higher with a lower mass, allowing the subwoofer to be operated efficiently even with moderate amplifier power. Depending on the cabling, the subwoofer can be operated with a total impedance of 1 ohm or 4 ohms in addition to the typical 2 x 2 ohm configuration, so that it can be perfectly adapted to powerful monoblock power amplifiers or complex multiple subwoofer setups. In addition to the electrical connection, the mechanical design has also been optimized for versatile installation options.
