The compact MC500 power cap with integrated distribution block offers a more constant power supply, improved sound and better bass performance for the amplifier. With a real 0.5 Farad capacity, it absorbs unpleasant voltage fluctuations and stabilizes the entire sound system. Thanks to the integrated distribution block, the MC500 is versatile and can be installed anywhere due to its small dimensions.

How do you connect the Musway MC500 Power Cap?

The capacitor is connected between the battery and the amplifier. Use the built-in terminals on the distribution block for the positive and earth cables. The installation should be carried out as close to the amplifier as possible.

What is the capacity of the Musway MC500?

The MC500 has a capacitance of 0.5 farads. This capacity is sufficient for amplifiers up to around 500 watts RMS and stabilises the power supply during brief power spikes.

Which car audio systems is the Power Cap suitable for?

The buffer capacitor is ideal for medium-sized audio systems with one or two amplifiers. For larger systems rated at 1,000 watts or more, you should use several capacitors or a more powerful model.

How long does the battery last in the Musway MC500?

Once the system has been switched off, the capacitor retains its charge for only a few minutes. Before carrying out any work on the system, you should always discharge the power cap via a resistor.

What is included with the MC500?

As well as the compact Power Cap with an integrated distribution block, you’ll receive assembly instructions and the necessary fixing materials. Cables must be purchased separately.

Can I fit the capacitor in the engine compartment?

Installation should be carried out in the vehicle’s interior or boot. The MC500 is not designed to withstand extreme temperatures and humidity in the engine compartment.

Do I need additional fuses for the Power Cap?

The Musway MC500 does not require its own fuse. The main fuse in your car hi-fi system, located between the battery and the distribution block, is sufficient.

How can I tell if my system needs a buffer capacitor?

Flickering headlights when listening to deep bass or drops in voltage on the voltmeter are typical signs. The Power Cap helps to smooth out these fluctuations and improves audio performance.
