The BRAX MATRIX ML165 PRO marks the next stage in the evolution of the legendary MATRIX ML6 D—a speaker that was already considered the benchmark for natural music reproduction in the high-end world. Carbon-fiber-reinforced multilayer membrane – lightweight, rigid, and low-resonance
The newly developed carbon fiber multilayer diaphragm of the ML165 PRO was created in close collaboration with renowned specialist Dr. Kurt Müller. Its layered carbon structure combines extreme rigidity with minimal mass and impressively reduces unwanted resonance.
A specially shaped reinforcement collar on the back—directly at the transition to the surround—significantly increases coil stiffness and prevents torsion even at high excursion levels. The straight cone geometry in the area of the voice coil mount optimizes force transmission and ensures exceptionally precise, controlled sound radiation.


Copper Cap for Maximum Linearity
At the center of the drive unit, a copper cap sits on the pole piece, which dampens fluctuations in the magnetic field through targeted eddy currents. This reduces the voice coil inductance, linearizes the impedance in the high-frequency range, and significantly lowers the distortion level. The result is a more uniform frequency response, higher efficiency, and impressively natural sound reproduction all the way up to the upper frequency range.


Precision and Perfect Control
The ML165 PRO’s meticulously crafted magnet system ensures a stable, symmetrical magnetic flux and guarantees maximum impulse fidelity as well as powerful dynamics across the entire frequency range. The aerodynamically shaped die-cast aluminum basket allows for optimal ventilation of the voice coil, minimizes air turbulence, and thus ensures maximum thermal stability and minimal compression effects—even at high volume levels.
The specially shaped rubber surround enables an exceptionally linear diaphragm excursion with minimal distortion. Its highly damping material ensures exact centering and precise control even at maximum excursion, while the high-strength Nomex spider, with its dimensionally stable fabric, guarantees consistently precise centering and permanently constant mechanical properties. This results in precise bass responses and clean, natural midrange reproduction.
Solid, 24-karat gold-plated terminals also guarantee maximum conductivity and uncompromised signal purity—a key factor in delivering uncompromising, reference-level sound quality.
