The net volume is always particularly important here; calculate the pure chamber of the subwoofer beforehand to arrive at the correct result. The net volume is calculated minus all displacements and is important when designing the enclosure.

The AudioControl SPK-V12 from the Spike Series is a high-performance, fully tuned bass-reflex subwoofer enclosure designed for demanding car audio applications. The robust enclosure houses a 30 cm (12") AudioControl SPK-12S2 subwoofer, which is designed for a final impedance of 2 ohms. With a 500-watt RMS power handling capacity, the SPK-V12 is ideal for high-power mono amplifiers and delivers powerful, deep bass.

The enclosure was specifically tuned for maximum bass output and controlled sound reproduction. A sturdy construction made of high-density fiberboard, combined with internal bracing, reduces unwanted cabinet resonance. Additionally, a polyfiber filling is used, which helps ensure controlled sound propagation within the cabinet.

To ensure high durability, the enclosure’s surface is coated with Roadkill Armor and then covered with heavy-duty marine-grade vinyl. The subwoofer itself features a fiber-matrix paper cone with a mica coating and a particularly robust voice coil design.

The design includes a sturdy, powder-coated steel grille to protect the chassis. The Multi-Secure mounting system facilitates secure installation in the vehicle. In addition to the standard speaker connections, a Quick-Plug connector can also be used, allowing the enclosure to be quickly removed from the vehicle if necessary.
