Before fitting, clean the metal surface to remove grease and dust, remove the backing film and press the self-adhesive mat firmly into place. A pressure roller ensures full-surface contact and optimum adhesion of the aluminium-rubber composite.

For which parts of a vehicle is Alubutyl insulation suitable?

The sound-deadening material can be fitted to doors, side panels, the boot and other metal surfaces. This helps to reduce vibrations and resonance at all the locations where speakers and subwoofers are fitted.

How should I store the aluminium butyl before fitting?

Store the product in a dry place at room temperature. Cold temperatures make the self-adhesive layer brittle and reduce its adhesion. The material should be at room temperature before use.

At what temperature is it best to install the insulation?

Around 20 degrees Celsius is ideal, as the aluminium rubber then remains supple and adheres perfectly. In cold conditions, you can gently warm the material and sheet metal beforehand using a hot-air gun.

Can the ALU SHEET EVO be used in combination with other insulation materials?

Yes, the aluminium-rubber composite provides the basic vibration insulation. You can add foam or non-woven fabric on top of this to further reduce airborne noise and high-frequency noise in the passenger compartment.
