It’s becoming increasingly common to install not only traditional 16.5 cm speakers but also larger 20 cm drivers in the front doors of vehicles. Thanks to their additional cone area, these speakers can produce significantly more bass. The ESX QUANTUM QXE8.2W mid-bass drivers were developed specifically for this application and deliver powerful bass reproduction directly from the car doors. They are suitable for numerous vehicles, such as those from VW, Audi, or Tesla, provided they have compatible 20 cm speaker mounts.

Since conventional 20-cm woofers with ferrite magnets are often too heavy and require a deep mounting depth, ESX uses a particularly compact neodymium magnet drive in the QXE8.2W. With an installation depth of just 57 mm and a weight of only 542 grams per speaker, they are ideal for space-saving door installations.

A unique feature is the placement of the powerful N45 neodymium magnet on the front of the speaker basket. This design reduces the required mounting depth while improving weight distribution. The sturdy glass-fiber cone, a vented 30-mm voice coil, and a pole piece with a copper cap ensure powerful and controlled sound reproduction.
