The V TWELVE DSP MK2 is the new problem solver when it comes to upgrading premium sound systems in today's vehicles. Like its predecessor, it combines 12 high-level inputs, 6 cinch inputs, 14 DSP channels and 12 power amplifier channels with up to 160 RMS at 2 ohms in an ultra-compact housing that just takes up the space of two envelopes.

 

Multifunction rethought

Even if a vehicle is factory-fitted with a premium sound system, the amplifier of which often has more than 10 channels, the sound quality does not always meet your expectations. In many cases it is no longer possible to replace existing components, so that only an amplifier with the same number of high-level inputs can be considered for expansion. 

For this reason, the HELIX V TWELVE DSP MK2 not only offers 12 high-level inputs, but also just as many amplifier channels to ensure optimal adaptation to existing multi-channel sound systems. In addition, the V TWELVE DSP MK2 is also equipped with a digital input and a HEC slot, which can be used to expand the sound system with additional signal sources such as Bluetooth streaming or the integration of a high-res audio player.

The management of the incredible fourteen (14!) separate DSP channels is taken over by the powerful, integrated 64-bit DSP in conjunction with our unique DSP PC tool software.

In addition, the newly installed, future-proof Smart Control Port (SCP) makes it easier to connect accessories and, in addition to a compact and secure plug connection, offers an integrated power supply for remote controls such as the CONDUCTOR or DIRECTOR, which significantly reduces the number of cables required and thus the installation space required.

 

Virtual Channel Processing – this is how signal routing works today

Adaptation to modern factory sound systems makes increasingly complex signal routing in the amplifier unavoidable due to an increasing number of signal inputs. Conventional routing concepts quickly reach their limits, especially when several input signals are mixed together and then broken down again into multi-path systems. Audiotec Fischer's new, multi-stage "Virtual Channel Processing" makes it possible, in conjunction with the recognized user-friendly DSP PC-Tool software, to easily map even highly complex system configurations and freely assign the proprietary FX sound features such as "RealCenter" or "Dynamic Bass Enhancement". to be able to But thanks to its enormous number of channels, the V TWELVE DSP MK2 is also a prime example for applications where 1 to 1 routing (IOR) makes sense.

 

Rapid computing power – thanks to ACO

Pure Class GD amplifier technology

The Pure Class GD concept combines the advantages of Class G technology with the principle of a Class D amplifier. This results in an unusually high degree of efficiency, which once again surpasses conventional Class D amplifiers. The advantages of the Pure Class GD concept come into play at low and medium modulation levels, as the internal supply voltage of the power stages varies depending on the amplitude of the input signal. In addition, the entire analog signal path of this amplifier is completely symmetrical, which benefits both the distortion factor and the signal-to-noise ratio.

 

ACO – Advanced 32 Bit CoProcessor

The HELIX V TWELVE DSP MK2 amplifier uses a particularly powerful 32-bit co-processor of the latest generation for all internal and external control and communication tasks. In contrast to the previously used 8-bit processor, this results in significant speed advantages, not only when switching between different sound setups, but above all in data communication with our DSP PC tool software. Another major advantage is the CoProcessor's integrated, native bootloader.

This enables software upgrades of all components of the integrated DSP, for example to be able to adapt the microcontroller-controlled ADEP.3 circuit to changes in diagnostic systems of factory radios in the future or to expand the device with additional interfaces.

In addition, thanks to the new flash memory, the ACO offers space for 10 sound setups instead of the usual two.

 

Intelligent high-level input ADEP.3

Modern, factory-installed car radios are becoming more and more intelligent when it comes to diagnosing the connected loudspeakers. The latest generation in particular is equipped with additional monitoring functions, so that error messages or even malfunctions can occur when an additional amplifier is connected. The new ADEP.3 circuit (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection Generation 3) prevents these problems without unnecessarily loading the speaker outputs of the radio at high levels.

 

Power Save Modus

The Power Save mode is activated in the basic settings of the DSP PC-Tool software. It allows the power consumption of the V TWELVE DSP MK2 (and any additional connected amplifiers) to be drastically reduced if there is no input signal for longer than 60 seconds. As soon as the "Power Save Mode" is active, the internal amplifier stages of the V TWELVE DSP MK2 and the Rem Out are switched off, thus significantly reducing the power consumption. The amplifier returns to normal operation within 2 seconds as soon as a music signal is present at its input. The switch-off delay can be varied or completely deactivated via the DSP PC-Tool software.

 

start-stop capability

The power pack in the HELIX V TWELVE DSP MK2 amplifier ensures the internal power supply even in the event of short-term dips down to 6 volts. This ensures that the HELIX V TWELVE DSP MK2 remains fully functional even when the engine is started.

DSP Features

RealCenter

The "RealCenter" function is an Audiotec Fischer proprietary algorithm that emphasizes the monaural information of the left and right front channels to create a unique center signal. In contrast to the usual method, in which only the channels are summed up, there is also a dynamic control of the center signal through the stereophonic information content of the left and right channel. This means that the center channel does not reproduce a signal if only the left channel or only the right channel provides an audio signal. With the usual algorithms, the center channel would only be 6 dB quieter in this case. Audiotec Fischer's "RealCenter" thus enables a unique, wide-ranging stage image - and that's ideal for driver and passenger alike! The disadvantages of a conventional center channel, such as an obtrusive, narrow spatial sound representation, are finally a thing of the past.

 

Augmented Bass Processing

Audiotec Fischer's proprietary "Augmented Bass Processing", consisting of the two revolutionary sound features: "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" and "SubXpander". These are specifically designed to dramatically improve bass response from subwoofers.

"Dynamic Bass Enhancement" combines in an ingenious way maximum deep bass foundation and high maximum sound pressure - regardless of the type of music you are listening to or the sound settings on the radio. Depending on the input signal, "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" boosts the lower frequency range on the one hand and varies the cut-off frequency of the subsonic filter on the other. The result is a significantly more powerful, deeper bass reproduction at low and medium volumes without running the risk of mechanically or electrically overloading the subwoofer at high volumes. It's simply fascinating what kind of bass performance is suddenly possible.

If you want the bass range to be a little deeper and "blacker", you can also activate the "SubXpander". Here, additional subharmonic tones are added to the fundamental tones in the frequency range between 50 and 100 Hz.

 

StageXpander

Depending on the arrangement of the loudspeakers in the vehicle, a more or less wide stereo stage can be created on the front seats. If a center loudspeaker is also installed, this sometimes additionally limits the spatial reproduction of the music. This is where Audiotec Fischer's new "StageXpander" comes into its own - a sound feature that seems to eliminate acoustic boundaries and thus enables a significantly broader stereo base without negatively affecting the precision in the localization of voices or instruments. The effect can be adjusted to personal taste in four stages.

 

ClarityXpander

Would you like more transparency and substance in the high-frequency reproduction? Audiotec Fischer now offers exactly the right tool for this with the "ClarityXpander".

Correctly dosed (and therefore selectable in three stages), it gives the overtones additional radiance - particularly useful if the original loudspeakers lack the necessary shine in the high-frequency range. The extra treble kick is not only available for the two front channels, but also separately adjustable for the center channel. And because especially with the latter a little bit too much in connection with musical material rich in overtones tires the ear, an automatic, dynamic control of the additional overtone component can even be activated here.
