The AudioControl PNW-275 is a compact 7-cm midrange driver from the Pacific Northwest series, ideal for high-quality multi-way car audio systems and for replacing factory-installed midrange drivers. Thanks to its shallow mounting depth of just 35 mm, it can be installed even where space is limited. The nominal impedance of 3 ohms ensures efficient utilization of the connected amplifier’s power.
To ensure controlled and detailed sound reproduction, AudioControl relies on a rigid paper-fiber matrix cone with a mica coating. The combination of a linear double-roll surround and an FEA-optimized magnet system ensures precise cone movement and high efficiency. An edge-reinforced steel basket further enhances mechanical stability and reduces unwanted distortion of the chassis.
The black anodized voice coil former promotes effective heat dissipation, thereby contributing to reliable power handling. The design is complemented by a transparent thermopolymer dust cap and a Sonic Diffuser with a Radiant Collar, which is specifically designed to improve sound reproduction off-axis.
The PNW-275 is suitable both for custom-built active systems with DSP and as an additional midrange driver in a 3-way system. AudioControl offers, for example, the optional PNW-XN3 3-way crossover, which allows the PNW-275 to be combined with the PNW-65CS2 or PNW-69CS2.
